  • Hi Hao,

Thank you for this email and the discount voucher which I will pass onto some friends who have already asked us who arranged our holiday.

We had a fantastic trip – all perfectly planned and we enjoyed meeting you in Hanoi. Thank you very much for a lovely dinner.

I will go onto Tripadvisor and comment.

For us the highlights were Luang Prabang with the elephant ride and the Kuang Si waterfalls. We also enjoyed a meal in the house of Tadam and the meal when in Vietnam near the Da River. In fact that area near the Da River was fantastic. I hope it doesn’t get ruined by tourism.

All our accommodation was really nice and I would recommend them to anyone else. The Le Siesta in Hanoi was so close and handy to everything.

The Vespa tour in Saigon we enjoyed so much that we booked it in Siem Reap to do the Foodie night tour which was great.

The only thing that was went wrong for our whole holiday was that when we got to Bangkok our flight home was delayed 7 hours but we were able to get onto another flight.

Thank you very much for all your help with the organisation of our holiday. It really was a brilliant time.

We have had some very hot weather since we returned home…47.3 degrees on Sunday. Still warm and humid with thunderstorms.

With thanks again and I will contact you again when we want to go to Myanmar.

  • Hi Xuan

Just wanted to send my thanks, for an amazing trick, the organisation of it all was amazing, and all went to plan. In general, the guides were all very very good, and knowledgeable and really helped us better understand everything regarding the wonderful country.

We have a few friends whom have expressed an interest in Vietnam so will of course happily pass on your companies details along with a big recommendation for using yourselves.

The advice and help in arranging every detail was superb, and your responsiveness to all the questions we had was superb.

Now I know you do lots of tours and customise them mainly to fit around   every ones schedules (flights) and of course budgets along with their thoughts etc.

Our only real feedback on our trip is probably caused by our own schedule restrictions.  But generally would recommend :

2 nights in Halong bay as was so nice although I know expensive), instead of the 1 really allowing more exploring.

In Sapa, the trip to Can Cau market was probably not worth it, it was a bout a 3 hour drive there, and then a further 2 hours back to where we were getting the shared limousine van back to Hanoi (about another 5 hours driving) this is not only a lot travel in one day, but also for us the market wasn’t especially something which stood out, personally id prefer to of had the morning doing another treck around Sapa area, maybe to some the waterfalls I believe are around there, rather than to the market, as would of reduced about driving in the day and I think been more interesting as well as Sapa was amazing views. (all be it very very cold 😉). Id also suggest if someone asks details about the shared limousine van to send some pictures, as they are nothing like what im used to in Europe, and are much much better explained by a picture to show of the luxurious way to travel and put peoples minds at rest.

Hotel in Hue was amazing, however given we weren’t arriving till nearly 10pm and leaving about 8am, was probably (I assume)  quite expensive and given it such a short stop perhaps a less expensive hotel  could be used. (again I imagine it being only 1 night was our flight schedule causing issues.)

Cambodia and the temples was truly awesome to visit and well worth it.

Thank you again for organising an amazing trip, one we wont forget.

    Regards

    David & Sian from UK

  • Dear Xuan,

Firstly, Thank You Xuan for your hard work in putting together our holiday. We had a wonderful time on our holiday. I would like to say that all the guides and drivers were outstanding, we found them all to be friendly, professional and knowledgeable. We particularly enjoyed our time with Sam in Hue, Nick in Luang Prabang and with the guide in Siem Reap, (sorry forgotten his name.)

Apart from the rainy weather and having to cancel our motorbike trip, which you kindly cancelled for us, the whole trip ran extremely smoothly. I particularly appreciated that each guide had information to hand at all times about our trip and flight connections. We also thought the hotels were of a good quality and particularly like The Saigon Morin in Hue and the Ancient Luang Prabang in Laos.

We would not hesitate to recommend yourself and Vietnamstay, you worked hard to create the holiday we wanted and I felt I could contact you at any time.

All in all we had a great time and would definitely use your company again.

    Thanks again.

    Kind Regards

  • Dear Mr Xuan

    Thanks.

Your itinerary was excellent. The hotel choice appropriate- especially the La Siesta group. They were exceptional- both Hanoi and Hoi An.

All guides were fantastic as were the drivers who coped very well with long and difficult drives.

We enjoyed the varied itininery especially the combination of cycling, walking, boats etc.

The Cambodian Hotel was of a significantly lower standard than the the Vietnam Hotels- perhaps this is a pricing issue? It was fine but catered more for larger groups. Not a complaint just feedback

The service and support was flawless! We will return perhaps to complete a longer time in Sapa and Cambodia.

We would like to recommend your services to our friends.  We are planning as similar tour to India next year- do you have any contacts there who coordinate similar tours.

    Kindest regards

  • Dear Hao,

It was so nice to meet you – thank you for taking the time to go out of your way to do that. It is my first day back at work today arrived late on Sunday and we have no internet coverage at home so this is the first opportunity to respond.

We had a lovely time, there is not a single tour we wish we did not do – they were all excellent.

    Particular highlights were the:

The long tail boat ride – where the driver was able to go really fast up the canals and see the people living on the water.

The grand palace and flower market and the special little things our Bangkok guide got us to try and the humour between her and the driver was excellent.

The bridge over the river kwai – in particular showing us movie in the van.

The summer place – wish there was more of the buildings open to go inside, it’s a very quirky place -  the grounds were lovely and topiary elephants magnificent.

The White temple “Wat Rong Khun” -  there were too many temples at the beginning of the trip so were over temples that we nearly said no to this one but Na-Na said it  is must see and she was right. Another great guide.

The elephant riding – we really missed seeing animals (we live on small sheep/cattle farm) so this was great to see their magnificence and enjoyment of the water.

The Kuangsi waterfall – wish we had been able to swim but did not want to pack wet togs in our bags.

Hanoi Tour and the La Siesta Hotel and Spa – Scarlet really looked after us and as I said when we came back from Halong Bay gave a us room to have a quick shower in. The tour guide again for the tour was fantastic he really looked after us and helped us do some currency exchange and took us to a training restaurant for lunch we was great,

Halong Bay – wow again this was just great, very relaxing and there were only 2 other couples so we did really get spoiled by the crew.

Hoian – again a fantastic hotel, loved the swimming pool and grounds. The vespa tour was much fun again the drivers and tour guide were great – gave them an excellent review on trip advisor.

Nhatrang – loved the boat trip there was only 3 other people on this so we were again treated like kings and queens with the crew making it a very special time.

Saigon – we enjoyed seeing the night market being set up – it is crazy – again we were shown a great place to change currency. The Mekong Delta having that boat to ourselves – jumping on and off to see things go cycling. The Cu Chi tunnels and the long boat ride up the river. They even had a breakfast for you on board we had got up early to have breakfast before we left, but I managed to eat again.

Phu Quoc Island  - of all places this is the one I would stay at for another week no problem (and maybe Hoian).

All the accommodation was superb loved both the La Siestia, and also the Eastin in Bangkok who went the extra mile giving us a packed breakfast for our early flight.

Especially loved the Phu Quo accommodation Cassia Cottages we had what I think was the best unit in the place and the facilities were suburb. During this trip it was our 32 wedding anniversary and it was great to stay in what I would  consider a honeymoon place.

There were only two hotels that I wouldn’t recommend or stay again. I didn’t think either of them deserved the four staff rating:

Novatel Nhatrang Hotel – the room was very smelly of cigarette smoke. the breakfast and service was not of the same standard as the other hotels.

Central Palace Hotel in Ho Chi Minh – the bed was so hard that the floor looked inviting, the breakfast and service was not up to the same standard as the other hotels.

It took close to 1.5 hours to get through the checkin and customs for our flight from Siagon to Phu Quoc Island with the half an hour from the hotel to the airport the earlier pick up was definitely needed – although in the end they only came 10 minutes early so it was a bit rushed.

Are you on trip advisor – I would be more than happy to give your company a glowing recommendation and a five star rating and will certainly be recommending you to any people in NZ who are looking to tour in your direction.

    Kind regards

  • Hello  Xuan Hao,

Jenny and I have great pleasure in providing feedback of our trip and our experience with you and your company.

We would firstly like to let you know that we had a very enjoyable holiday and we have already got several friends that are looking to book via yourselves for a similar experience in the future.

We were very impressed from the start at your prompt reply's to any correspondence, suggestions to itinerary  and ability to change and customise. Our trip went very much as per itinerary and exceeded our expectations. You took a lot of pressure off us and made our planning an enjoyable process. You provided good communication when required and  we felt we had your support an email away at any time.

The only negative experiences we had were outside the control of Vietnam Stay

    a) rescheduling of internal flight times and

    b) a driver being less than professional.

The internal flight from Hue to Saigon being delayed made for a very long day waiting at an airport for over 5 hours. If there was an option to take a different flight and paying extra we would have considered this. As for our experience with The driver in Saigon, we were very impressed in your reaction and actions taken when notified. Once again I would like to emphasise that we acknowledge that when traveling you often experience problems that can’t be pre-empted and we were very impressed with how you handled our complaint and organised reimbursement to enable us to replace our iPad and fix our suitcase which we have now done. These we considered small inconveniences and did not affect our enjoyment and overall experience.

We were also very impressed with our Guides and would like to make a special mention to our guide and driver in Hanoi, Quyen and Mr Son, The Vespa Tour guide in Hoi and Thoung our guide at  Ben Tre.  These personalities and their interaction with us were definitely some of our highlights and made for a unique experience.

Thank you again for your service and are happy for you to use us as a reference for yourself and your company.

As mentioned we have already passed your details to friends, posted a review on trip advisor and would definitely look to you first if we travel to your part of the world again in the future.

    Yours Sincerely

Graeme and Jenny Prestidge from New Zealand

4.2) Jai (? - We are never absolutely sure about the names) (Luang Prabang and Plain of Jars): Excellent. Highly recommended.

4.3) Sunny (Vientiane): Ok., but was mainly interested in getting home as soon as possible.

     5) Your preparation of the tour: Some years ago, we took a trip through Vietnam with Vietnamstay and liked it. Therefore we came back to your company. This year was the same.
